Literature Text
at cliff edge my darling dances, tiptoes and windswept honey-gold hair. i say, 'my sweet come to daddy, come here princess, you're scaring me.' but that roar of wind is so loud in her ears she sways and looks upon me a moment like i've been only quiet admiring, never calling. she laps in the taste of salty-wave and sand, and she is magic in all her softness. but she is so close and one toe pushes rock downledge and i'm running, oh dear me, i'm running for my darling on the sea cliff, i'm running and i'm all love for her. for her who is me in those eyes and lips, who is me in those smiles. i'm running and she's stopped, standing with her little lips apart like that, puffy bottom lip dropped and sunshine all sparkly white-blue in her eyes. she's stopped and i cannot, i'm running, i'm running, oh silly me, running downwards towards her on the cliff and i have her in my arms, my fairy princess! my brighter-than-sun darling! we're dancing and then, oh, toes, foot slips, we slip and are falling. me and my lily playing alice in wonderland into the crashing waves, short fall and holding our breaths. us beneath the water. us bursting from water, eyes stinging but grinning, lily giggling with wet, matted eyelashes. us. and the love that never falters.

sunday thoughts
you are glowbracelets
and fireflies and oatmeal raisin cookies.
you are thunderstorms
and comic books and afternoons on the bleachers.
you are constellations

you are the best thing
i could ever hope for and i love you more than should be allowed.

today is the day you remember how to breathe.

candlelight that wont fade.
play on imagination like a piano, words flowing like soft melodies, painting pictures of meadows under soft skies and the smiles of kids on playgrounds; hop-scotch and held hands and snowball fights.
breathe in moonlight for a change; dance with your heart wide open and unafraid. pret

chasing a breeze.
you are reminiscent of wind.
silent, maybe a ghost
until you're screaming
through the cracks. i am silent
as the weight of you breaks me, like
a power line that's lost its magic.
you were always hard to handle,
almost impossible
to contain, we have more chance
of catching a breeze
than tying you down.
i jumped, parachute in hand, and
watched the colors of the world
fall with me, spinning and diving.
i prayed for you to fill my parachute
and keep me from crashing,
but you never did.
the colours blended
into one shade of red
as i hurtled to oblivion
and you chose just
the right moment
to be silent.
i'm left empty,
